From Taitung Train Station to Fugang Ferry Pier (Taitung), the standard option is Puyuma Transport Route 201, the Land-Sea-Air Express — about 20 minutes for NT$25 (iPASS, EasyCard and iCash all accepted). As of November 2025 the route was renumbered to 201 (previously 1281A); the "Land-Sea-Air Express" brand name continues.
Route 201 runs 14 services a day from Taitung Train Station to Fugang, earliest 06:20, latest 18:00. The actual departures: 06:20, 07:30, 08:10, 08:30, 09:50, 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 13:30, 15:10, 15:40, 16:00, 16:40, 18:00. Headway is roughly every 30 minutes to 1 hour, with a gap of about 100 minutes between 13:30 and 15:10 in the afternoon — worth noting if you are aiming for the high-season 15:30 last sailing. Return services from Fugang to the train station run all day, so getting back into town after disembarking is flexible.
How to time your bus to a sailing:
- 07:00 Lanyu boat / high-season 07:30 Green Island extra: take the 06:20 first bus to Fugang at 06:40, wait 20–50 minutes.
- 09:30 Green Island first weekday sailing: take the 08:10 or 08:30 bus, arriving Fugang 08:30–08:50, wait 40–60 minutes.
- 11:30 high-season Green Island extra: take the 10:30 bus, arriving Fugang at 10:50, wait 40 minutes.
- 12:30 Lanyu sailing: take the 11:30 bus, arriving Fugang at 11:50, wait 40 minutes.
- 13:30 weekday Green Island sailing: take the 12:30 bus, arriving Fugang at 12:50, wait 40 minutes.
- 15:30 high-season Green Island last sailing: take the 15:10 bus, arriving Fugang at 15:30 — zero margin. Safer to take the 13:30 bus and wait from 14:00, or just grab a taxi (about NT$300, 20 minutes).
Out the front of Taitung Train Station, head front-right to the Bay 1 bus boarding area — a 2-minute walk, just follow the signs. If your train is delayed and you miss the bus, grab a taxi straight to Fugang — but check the day's sailings first, so you do not arrive at the pier and find the boat cancelled.
